Job Description

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated, quick-learning Lab Technician to join our team. The right person will have a postgraduate degree in a life science and some hands-on experience with molecular biology work. We care about more than technical skill, though. We want someone who is approachable, communicates well, and settles quickly into a team-based Operational setting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and molecular biology experiments.
Handle sample processing, storage, and documentation in compliance with established laboratory protocols.
DNA/RNA extraction, quantification, and quality assessment as required by ongoing projects.
Support library preparation workflows for sequencing or related downstream applications, where applicable.
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment; report any issues promptly.
Prepare reagents, buffers, and other lab materials accurately and efficiently.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments, observations, and results.
Monitor and assist with laboratory inventory, including consumables and reagents.
Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety standards, and SOPs at all times.
Collaborate actively with research and support teams to ensure smooth lab operations.

Education

M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, or a related life science (required).

Experience

6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in a molecular biology laboratory setting is preferred.
Candidates with strong academic project work, thesis research, or internship exposure in molecular biology are also welcome to apply.

Preferred Technical Skills

Experience in any of the following will be a strong advantage:

DNA/RNA extraction and purification techniques.
Library preparation for next-generation sequencing (NGS) or similar platforms.
PCR, gel electrophoresis, quantification (NanoDrop, Qubit), or related molecular techniques.
Familiarity with laboratory documentation, data recording, and basic data analysis.
